Graphic designers create visual concepts, by hand or using computer software, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate consumers.  They help to make an organization recognizable by selecting color, image, or logo designs the represent a particular idea or identity in advertising and promotions.  Most graphic designers are employed in specialized design services, publishing, advertising, public relations, and related services.

In 2010, about 29% of graphic designers were self employed. This Graphic Design program prepares students for entry level employment in advertising agency, art agency, newspaper, industrial in plant printing unit, and freelance work.  If you like art, computers, pictures; and would like to learn how to use Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and a variety of software packages for web page design, this program is for YOU!
